nice post....

i have been wanting to put something together on THE DEAD's MOTOWN SOUND....


from MIDNIGHT HOUR and LOVELIGHT through NOT FADE, GOOD LOVIN and DANCIN in the STREETS.....this proved to be very fertile ground for the group, where they found a way to open up any tune and make it their own.

in the POST PSYCHEDELIC years these tunes were vital and provided THE GATEWAY....amazing that pop songs could be made transcendental....again laying credibility to the TRUTHFULLNESS of THE DEAD! for their entire career, they had very honest, understandable values and that was most evident in the material they presented. THEY CHOSE WISELY and with purpose.....goddamngratefulmotherfuckingdead.....
